Contact: Courtney Brown, Family Partnership Director Habitat for Humanity and Progressive Foam partner to build new home in Dennison
Currently living in unhealthy substandard housing, future homeowners Dennis and Jessica Roach will be the first in their families to own a home. Dennis and Jessica partnered with Habitat for Humanity to build and purchase this home through an affordable 0% interest mortgage, creating a strong foundation for their children Riley (6) and Jaxson (2). "I think it's really beneficial for them growing up and knowing they have a stable home and we’ve provided for them as best we can," said Jessica. "We can't wait to see what our lives look like in 10 years because of the stability of this home. I'm for sure going to cry. I'm going to feel relief."
Progressive Foam Technologies has financially sponsored this home, provided volunteer labor, and donated insulated siding for this and all of the new construction projects Habitat will complete this year. “When we invest our energy in making life better for our neighbors, we build community, and community makes life beautiful," said Jason Culpepper, President of Progressive Foam Technologies. "My goal for Progressive Foam is that every one of my coworkers is focused on making life better together. We have locked arms with Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio because I have seen no clearer example of building community together, the way God intended. The whole community using their time and resources to provide a solid foundation for a worthy family, and the family who will in-turn use their increased strength and stability to invest in the community—it's a beautiful model.”
As a member of the Carpenter's Union, Dennis feels at home on Habitat worksites as he and Jessica build their home and the homes of other Habitat families. The team at Habitat is proud of the family's hard work and determination and is grateful for community partnerships that will bring this home to life. "Dennis and Jessica are so focused on improving their family's future. Their drive combined with the generosity and heart of Progressive Foam will make an impact for this family and community that will last for generations" said Courtney Brown, Family Partnership Director at Habitat for Humanity. "That's the beauty of Habitat—everyone is built up together."
